Absolute Eosinophil Count (AEC) Body Fluid
An Absolute Eosinophil Count (AEC) test is a blood test that measures the number of eosinophils, a type of white blood cell, in a given volume of blood. A normal range for AEC is typically between 30 and 350 cells/µL, but this can vary by lab. Elevated levels (eosinophilia) may indicate allergies, asthma, parasitic infections, autoimmune disorders, or certain cancers. Low levels can suggest infections or bone marrow disorders.
