BUN/CRETININE RATIO
The BUN (Blood Urea Nitrogen) to Creatinine ratio is a blood test that compares two waste products, BUN and creatinine, to help assess kidney health and identify potential underlying conditions like dehydration, heart failure, or liver disease. A normal ratio typically falls between 10:1 and 20:1. A high ratio may suggest pre-renal issues like dehydration or heart failure, while a low ratio could indicate liver disease, malnutrition, or severe kidney damage that reduces urea reabsorption.
