Tissue Transglutaminase Antibody IgG, Serum
A Tissue Transglutaminase (TTG) Antibody IgG, Serum test measures specific antibodies in your blood to help diagnose celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder where the body attacks itself in response to gluten. This IgG test is particularly useful for people who are IgA-deficient, as they may not produce enough IgA antibodies to be detected by standard tests. While a positive result suggests celiac disease, a definitive diagnosis requires further tests, such as a small intestinal biopsy.
