PBF (Peripheral Smear Study)
A PBF, or Peripheral Blood Film/Smear, is a lab test where a drop of blood is spread on a glass slide, stained, and then examined under a microscope by a trained technician to assess the characteristics of your red blood cells (RBCs), white blood cells (WBCs), and platelets. This direct visual inspection helps detect, diagnose, and monitor various blood cell deficiencies and disorders, such as anemia, leukemia, and malaria.
