Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) Ab, IgG
The Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) Ab, IgG test measures IgG-class antibodies against deamidated gliadin peptides in the blood, which are specific indicators used to help diagnose Celiac Disease (CD) in conjunction with other tests. This test is particularly useful for individuals with IgA deficiency, as their IgA-based tests may produce false-negative results, making the IgG DGP test a valuable screening tool. A positive result suggests celiac disease, but a definitive diagnosis still requires a small intestinal biopsy.
