Aspergillus Fumigatus-Specific IgA
Aspergillus Fumigatus-Specific IgA are antibodies produced in the body in response to the fungus Aspergillus fumigatus. They are primarily measured to diagnose and monitor allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis (ABPA), a severe allergic reaction to the fungus that affects the lungs. High levels of these IgA antibodies, especially when combined with symptoms, can indicate ABPA, though their presence doesn't always guarantee a diagnosis.
