Protein/Creatinine Ratio, Urine Spot
A spot urine protein creatinine ratio (UPCR) test measures the amount of protein and creatinine in a single, random urine sample to check kidney health and detect proteinuria (excess protein in the urine). A normal UPCR is typically less than 0.2 g/g or 20 mg/mmol, while higher values may indicate kidney disease, diabetes, or hypertension. The test is simple, requires no special preparation, and helps monitor conditions that can damage the kidneys.
