SCLERODERMA ANTIBODY,(SCL-70) SERUM
The Scleroderma Antibody (Scl-70) test, also known as the anti-topoisomerase I antibody test, detects anti-Scl-70 antibodies in a patient's serum, helping to diagnose and monitor the autoimmune disease scleroderma, particularly its diffuse form. A positive result indicates the presence of these antibodies, which are associated with a higher risk of diffuse skin thickening and interstitial lung disease. However, the test result must be interpreted by a doctor in the context of the patient's symptoms and medical history, as a positive test does not always mean scleroderma is present.
