A Cardiolipin Antibody Profile (ACA) test detects anti-cardiolipin antibodies (aPLs), which are autoantibodies that trigger excessive blood clotting and can lead to serious complications like strokes, pulmonary embolism, and recurrent miscarriages. The profile specifically looks for IgG, IgA, and IgM isotypes of these antibodies, which indicate an autoimmune condition or antiphospholipid syndrome (APS). The results are interpreted as negative, low/medium positive, or high positive based on the concentration of these antibodies.
