SS - A (Ro) IgG Antibody

An SS-A (Ro) IgG antibody test detects specific autoantibodies in the blood associated with autoimmune diseases like Sjögren's syndrome and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), helping to diagnose and manage these conditions. The test looks for antibodies to two distinct proteins, Ro52 and Ro60, and distinguishing between them can provide more specific diagnostic and prognostic information for various connective tissue diseases. A positive result in a pregnant woman with SLE can indicate an increased risk of congenital heart block in the neonate.
