JO-1 Immuno Blot
A JO-1 Immuno Blot is a diagnostic test that detects the presence and quantity of Jo-1 autoantibodies in a patient's blood, confirming the diagnosis of an anti-synthetase syndrome. These antibodies target the Jo-1 antigen, a histidyl-transfer-RNA synthetase enzyme, and are associated with a specific subset of myositis characterized by muscle inflammation, interstitial lung disease, and other systemic symptoms. The test involves an immunoblot or line blot, a sensitive method for confirming positive antibody findings from initial screening tests like enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA)
