GLIADIN (DEAMIDATED) ANTIBODIES PANEL
A GLIADIN (DEAMIDATED) ANTIBODIES PANEL is a blood test that measures the presence of deamidated gliadin peptide (DGP) antibodies (both IgA and IgG types) to help diagnose celiac disease, an autoimmune reaction to gluten. Elevated levels of these antibodies indicate an immune response to gluten found in wheat, barley, and rye, which can lead to damage in the small intestine. This test is particularly useful for patients with IgA deficiency, as standard celiac tests might give false-negative results in such cases.
