Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) Ab, IgA
A Deamidated Gliadin Peptide (DGP) Ab, IgA test measures IgA antibodies in the blood that target deamidated gliadin peptides, a modified form of gluten protein. This blood test is used to help diagnose celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder triggered by gluten, by detecting the immune response that damages the small intestine. While valuable, it's often used in conjunction with other tests, such as tissue transglutaminase (tTG) IgA, and is particularly useful for patients who are IgA deficient or test negative for other markers.
