Phosphorus (P) is a vital nonmetal element, atomic number 15, found in essential biological molecules like DNA and energy-carrying ATP, and crucial for bone formation and cell function in humans and animals. Never found free in nature, it exists as phosphates, used to make fertilizers, and is a key component in fireworks, pesticides, and detergents.
