Aspergillus Fumigatus-Specific IgG (FEIA)
An Aspergillus Fumigatus-Specific IgG (FEIA) test measures the levels of IgG antibodies in the blood that target Aspergillus fumigatus, a common fungus. It's performed using a Fluorescent Enzyme Immunoassay (FEIA) method, often via automated systems like the Phadia ImmunoCAP system. The presence of these IgG antibodies suggests sensitization or exposure to the fungus and is a key indicator for diagnosing conditions like Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis (ABPA) and Chronic Pulmonary Aspergillosis (CPA).
